octopoems and used onomatopoeia. Faith 7W
They looked at poems with themes and
wrote some of their own.

have been Crystal 8B
looking at Danny
the Champion of
the World. They
have studied the
characters, plot
and setting. They
created
storyboards and
answered
questions based
on the text.

Year 9s have been escaping the
cold British weather to study the
novel Kensuke’s Kingdom, by

Michael Morpurgo which is set
on a tropical island. We have
been so impressed

by their ability to
recall plot and
characters and even
predict what

happens next in the
story.
